Teen Vogue: Your relationships with your close girlfriends are inspiring and seem very important to you. How do you make time to see them when you're so busy with your superstar schedule?
Taylor Swift: My friends all have different jobs — some I get to see at award shows, some I see when they're home from college, some are in my band! I'm so lucky to have so many people I love and trust.
Teen Vogue: If you could have dinner with any character from a movie, book, or TV show, who would you choose and why?
Taylor Swift: Detective Olivia Benson from Law & Order S.V.U. I sit in my apartment and watch hours of that show. So I sort of feel like me and Olivia are BFFs
Teen Vogue: What are the top three songs that are inspiring you right now?
Taylor Swift: "She's So High" by Tal Bachman (the sweetest song !!), "You Learn" by Alanis Morissette, "Shot in the Dark" by Augustana.
Teen Vogue: What are your pop-culture guilty pleasures?
Taylor Swift: Teen Mom, 16 and Pregnant, 90's one-hit wonders, watching YouTube videos of kittens, the app CatPaint . . I CatPaint all my pictures. It's weird.
Teen Vogue: Do you ever get nervous before performing? How do you deal with it?
Taylor Swift: I do. But only if I'm not sure what the audience thinks of me, like at award shows. I never look down at the front row! My heroes watching = nerves!
Teen Vogue: Describe your favorite dress you've ever worn.
Taylor Swift: I get to wear it every night on tour at the end of the show when I'm singing "Love Story." It's long and sparkly (big surprise, right?) and a total princess dress.
Teen Vogue: If you weren't a singer-songwriter, what would you be?
Taylor Swift: I'd be doing something creative and idea-related—like coming up with ad campaigns or writing novels. Or I'd work with kids!
